The resolution, titled "Cooperation between the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation," was adopted by consensus and underscores the alignment of the two organizations in addressing global challenges. It emphasizes their collective efforts in conflict prevention, peacebuilding, post-conflict rehabilitation, and promoting a culture of peace. A key focus of the resolution is tackling issues impacting Muslim communities worldwide, including the promotion of interfaith dialogue and cooperation.


The resolution also highlights the importance of deepening collaboration between the OIC and the UN in areas such as combating religious intolerance, countering violent extremism, and advancing the peace process in the Middle East. It stresses the need for greater cooperation on issues such as counterterrorism and conflict mediation.


In light of the resolution's adoption, the OIC has reiterated its call for the international community to intensify efforts to implement the United Nations’ resolution on the Palestinian cause. The OIC calls for the recognition of the Palestinian people’s rights to establish an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
